The first industrial energy community in Sardinia is born: in the Cacip service center of Macchiareddu, the Cagliari industrial consortium and the first 13 companies that joined the initiative signed the deed of incorporation of the new legal entity in front of a notary which will give significant economic, environmental and social benefits to those who become part of it.
The companies, under the direction of CACP, will share the electricity produced by renewable source systems present in their factories, an exchange that will guarantee advantages for both those who produce it and those who receive it. The first companies to become part of the industrial Cer are: Sceas, Fibi, Biological fertilizers, Ved, Cgs Tec Service, Isola rent, Sirma, Ecoselettronica, Nuova Icom, Aga, Officina mechanic Giorgio Melis, Dedoni Sardinia, Post service. A number, that of the members of the energy community strongly supported by CACP, is destined to increase.
For Barbara Porru, president of Cacip, the establishment of the industrial Cer represents a historic moment for the industrial sector of the island: «Solving the energy problem represents one of the most important challenges for Cacip and for the future of its territory, for this reason the The basic idea was to create one or more energy communities capable of connecting companies with the sharing of the energy produced by exploiting the benefits of the legislation on sharing and self-consumption of the same. To create and maintain a constant channel of communication and involvement with the members who will be part of the Cer, a specific desk for the management of projects relating to the developments of renewable energy communities has been opened within the Cacip Service Center. This experience demonstrates how collaboration between the industrial sector, the academic world and institutions can facilitate the development of energy communities."
Stefano Mameli, director of the Cagliari Industrial Consortium, explains how the Cer will help the public and private sectors to team up to pursue common objectives: «Today is an important step in the path that the Cacip is pursuing in supporting companies on the issues of power. In a historical moment where the topic of energy is extremely topical, I like to underline the community theme. The added value of our proposal, then embraced by companies, lies precisely in considering ourselves a community, a group of subjects who collaborate with each other to achieve common goals. In this case purposes linked to the optimization of energy costs, but which may have many implications in the near future, including social as well as economic ones".
Emilio Ghiani, associate professor and teacher of the Electrical Energy Systems and Production course at the University of Cagliari, and coordinator of the development activity of the Cer born within the Cacip industrial sector, clarifies the technical aspects of the functioning of the energy community: «The first companies to join are located in the Consortium areas of the Elmas and Macchiareddu agglomerations, which is why two different configurations will be established, one for each area, which will be able to have separate photovoltaic systems in the construction phase and/or ready to enter service following completion of the connection procedures to the electricity grid. The industrial energy community works just like the traditional one: there are companies equipped with photovoltaic systems that produce energy, and others that join the association to take advantage of it. The economic advantages are notable: each MWh produced generates an incentive of 120 euros."
Patrizia Rombi, Cacip's lawyer, followed the establishment phase of the Cer step by step, offering the necessary support to the companies that have embraced the project: «At the moment the companies that have chosen to become part of the first industrial energy community of the Isola are twelve, but there are several interested in taking the same step. The doors are open to everyone, small and medium-sized businesses that intend to join as consumers or producers, but also to the largest companies in our area."
Paola Secci, president of the Council of Local Authorities (Cal), applauds the birth of the first industrial Cer on the island: «As the Council of Local Authorities we have been dealing with the energy transition for some time. We have followed with great attention the first virtuous municipalities of the Marmilla, in particular Ussaramanna and Villanovaforru which have equipped themselves with two Cers, essential to combat energy poverty. The adhesion of citizens and productive activities to these two realities now created and functioning gives rise to hope. We also look with satisfaction at the path traced by Cacip with the first industrial energy community in Sardinia which will offer new opportunities to the companies that are part of it. The Council of Local Authorities is ready to do its part and support all initiatives towards a "just" transition that looks at the interests of the territories, communities and businesses located there."
