New, comforting data for real estate companies operating in the luxury real estate market in Sardinia.
They come from a study by LuxuryEstate.com , the leading real estate portal in the luxury sector and partner of Immobiliare.it , according to which the Island is in fourth place among Italian regions for searches for high-end homes among international buyers.
The region most searched for by " foreign rich people" wishing to buy a second home for holidays or as an investment is Tuscany , with around 20% of overall searches, followed by Lombardy, which just exceeds 17%, and Lazio, also with double-digit percentages but well behind the first two, at around 11.5%.
Just below the podium, as mentioned, is Sardinia, with 8.5% of preferences , followed by two other seaside locations - ideal for buying a second home in which to spend the holidays - namely Liguria and Sicily, which respectively collect 7.1% and 6.5% of the total interest.
Still, just behind Sicily, in seventh place is Veneto (6.3%), followed by Campania, eighth at 5.2%, and Piedmont, ninth and stuck at 4%. Closing the top 10 is Trentino-Alto Adige, which, with its splendid mountains, is the favorite destination for 3.5% of those looking for luxury homes from abroad.
Looking at the origin of the searches, we can see that Germany is the country from which most of the luxury interest in Italy comes . This is the case in 8 of the 10 regions mentioned in the previous ranking, with Trentino-Alto Adige emerging above all the others: here, over 50% of the total demand comes from Germany. Significant percentages, above 20%, are also reached in Sardinia (28%) , Liguria (27%) and Tuscany (23%).
Only in two regions is France the country from which the majority of luxury searches in Italy come: Lazio and Piedmont, tied at 14%. Finally, Italian luxury real estate is also receiving a lot of attention, at a regional level, from Poland, which is in third place in the overall searches of foreign high spenders in Sardinia, Sicily (9% for both) , Tuscany (8%) and Trentino-Alto Adige (6%).
"The top 10 positions include what we can label as the areas of Italian luxury par excellence," says Paolo Giabardo, CEO of LuxuryEstate.com . "Tuscany is in the lead because it combines the cultural appeal of Florence with the scenic and maritime beauty of Versilia, while Lombardy and Lazio climb to the podium thanks to Milan and Rome, which contain a good part of the value of the Italian luxury stock and are therefore often chosen by those who consider luxury properties as an investment for the future. Finally, the ranking includes the classic holiday destinations, whether seaside or mountain, to complete an offer, that of our Peninsula, which is able to satisfy any need."
