The Africa Cup of Nations is upon us and for many Serie A clubs the specter of the departure of several big names is approaching. As in the case of Cagliari, who will be forced to give up Zito Luvumbo , the protagonist of the first part of the season for the rossoblù, for several matches.

In fact, on January 15th , his Angola will take the field for their debut in the competition against Algeria, and the attacker is expected from the first minute. The day before, however, the Sardinians will be involved in the first match of the return round against Bologna. Cagliari's hope is that the match against Thiago Motta's men will be the first match that Luvumbo will miss.

Eight days earlier, precisely for the Epiphany, Pavoletti and his teammates will visit Lecce and the Angolan's presence seems to be in the balance. The retreat of his national team, in fact, will have already begun and - theoretically - Zito will have to be on the other side of the Mediterranean. Here Cagliari would have asked the Angolan Federation for permission to keep the number 77 until the trip to Puglia , and then say goodbye to him for a few weeks.

Luvumbo would certainly be absent for the aforementioned match against Bologna and the one against Frosinone , and probably against Torino (even if Angola were eliminated in the groups, they would play the last match three days before the match against the Granata). Then everything will depend on the national team's progress in the Africa Cup of Nations.
