"If I made a mistake, time will tell." Cagliari sporting director Guido Angelozzi takes stock of the transfer market, both past and present : "Luperto left because we need the resources to move forward, a lucrative offer for a player born in 1996." Seven players in, seven out, how does Cagliari emerge from this transfer window? "Two players are already ready, Dossena and Sulemana, who you know well. And some young players like Raterink and Albarracin who could already give us a hand. I think we've done a good job, but time will tell."
Honest and clear-headed about the Luperto case, he dominated the press room at the Domus before the cold, freezing training session: " Pisacane didn't want Luperto to leave. I feel sorry for the man and the player . He's a godson because he was with me at Lecce. I understand the fans' disappointment . I know there's unrest, but a club has to make decisions, even uncomfortable ones."
Prati and Luvumbo : "Prati, partly due to Pisacane's brilliant idea of deploying Gaetano in that role, has lost his playing time. He realized this and asked to move elsewhere. Just like Luvumbo, he had been asking us for a change of scenery for two months." Kilicsoy : "We'll discuss the situation with Besiktas. We wanted to buy him early for a lower fee, but that wasn't possible. He's rewarding us with his play; he's a real phenomenon." How would you rate Angelozzi? "You guys are the ones to rate him. I could have done better. I missed out on Dominguez at the last minute, but Bologna backed out."
