«This first part of the morning does not bring me any sense of wonder. I am not bothered by the fact that the Region's system is not able to offer official data three hours after the start of the counting operations, considering that for five years the Region presided over by Solinas has never been able to give answers to any problem in Sardinia. And I'm not surprised to see that, according to the data arriving from the first individual polling stations in Cagliari, Alessandra Todde is so far ahead of the center-right candidate for president Paolo Truzzu , who is evidently not appreciated as mayor and it was known."

Lucia Chessa , 63 years old, from Bitti, candidate for president of Sardinia R-Esiste , smiles in front of the Region's data machine which jammed at the start: «It summarizes and represents the legislature that is coming to an end» .

On the one hand, Chessa regrets that Renato Soru, due to the electoral law, will not be a councilor if he does not overcome the barrier as a coalition: «On the other hand, whoever is the cause of his misfortune should cry for himself: Soru was among those who they voted for this electoral law which is so careful to keep out those who do not belong to the centre-right and centre-left coalitions. The threshold is calculated on the votes of the lists, therefore the personal success of the presidential candidate has no impact, but the majority bonus is decided on the consensus of the president. This electoral law is indecent and we at R-Esiste ran as candidates primarily to contest it ."

No surprise at being last in the consensus: «We were unable to present lists in Sassari and Ogliastra», recalls Lucia Chessa, «and we have 34 candidates instead of 60. We are there to make ourselves known to the Sardinians, we were born from a month and we are presenting ourselves on the island to coincide with the electoral appointment. Many are contacting us, many want to know about us and say they are ready to support us in our political journey. This is the success we hoped for, and it has arrived regardless of our result at the polls ."
