Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th “Lollas” returns to Quartu .
Also this year many Campidanese houses will open their doors between stories of past life, good music and the presentation of books by Sardinian authors.
The famous raw earth architectures distinguish many urban centers, Quartu in the first place. Sa lolla, the loggia, overlooks the courtyard , which acts as a link between the various rooms of the house: it is the place where most of the typical activities of agro-pastoral culture were carried out every day, and which together with the courtyard represents the essential element of every Campidanese house.
“The raw bricks of mud and straw, the tied or intertwined reeds, the beams in chestnut or juniper wood, the sandstone for the window frames, 'the appropriate' where to sit and make community. These ancient houses are an exciting tale of our past and now they take the stage, put themselves on display to tell about that tradition, that architecture, that culture that is inherent in our society - comments the councilor for productive activities and enhancement of the territory Rossana Perra -. Tourists and visitors have already shown in the past to appreciate these days of pure culture, in which we tell ourselves, our knowledge, also confident that it can contribute to the relaunch of the vast and qualitative offer of our territory ".
The weekend organized by the municipal administration, in collaboration with the Association of Local Bodies for Cultural and Entertainment Activities, with the contribution of the Foundation of Sardinia and the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, is scheduled for 29 and 30 October. Five private lollas will open their portals : Casa Puxeddu, in via Martini 32, Casa Murgia-Casanova and Casa Spiga, in via XX Settembre 116 and 34, Casa Pippia-Stocchino in via Battisti 20, Casa Carboni-Congiu in via Trieste 38. To these is added the most famous Campidanese house in Sardinia, Sa Dom'e Farra , formerly an ethnographic museum and recently reopened by the municipal administration, with an adjoining multimedia museum of improvised poetry.
The history of the house and the trades that were carried out in it will be told, with the presence of various local artisans, who will not only exhibit their products but will be personally active in the demonstrations of the production cycles. There will be music and animation, while in collaboration with Shardana and the city's animal welfare associations , the fostering and adoption of four-legged friends found in the Quartese area will be promoted .
For lovers of good wine there will be tastings . The Fraponti Winery, born and raised in the Quartese area, with 100 years of history behind it, will also participate in the initiative. In each home you can sip different varieties of wines, always linked to the traditional Quartese vines: from cannonau to vermentino, but also Sardinian barbera in purity.
During the two evenings, from 17.30 to 20.30, the Porrino Street Band will be active, playing in the streets, with passages inside the houses. The free tourist train will also be active : it will terminate in front of Sa Dom'e Farra, departing every 45 minutes and stopping in all the houses involved.
