Local Health Authority (ASL) appointments: Todde and the opposition clash. Truzzu: "This way, an agreement on the budget is impossible."
The president, heard for two and a half hours in the commission, defends her choices, a very harsh confrontation that delays the green light to the budgetPer restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
A very heated debate took place in the Health Committee, where Regional President Alessandra Todde was questioned regarding the recent appointments of nine out of twelve general directors of healthcare agencies , made despite the Constitutional Court's rejection of the law on commissioners. The hearing lasted over two and a half hours. First, the governor explained that she had decided to proceed with the appointments based on the legal opinion of the Cerulli Irelli firm (which reportedly cost twenty thousand euros). Afterward, all the opposition members spoke, strongly criticizing Todde and the Regional Council's decisions .
At the end, the president declared that "it was a harsh confrontation, but with correct manners that I appreciate . However, I believe we should focus the discussion on what is outside this palace, on the fact that Sardinian citizens want a healthcare system that works, while they are little interested in technicalities, in legal opinions."
In the commission, he added, "we made it clear that there is no vacancy. The local health authorities are currently governed by the most senior of the administrative directors and the medical directors, precisely for administrative continuity , so discussions will continue until the final three general directors are appointed."
On the potential financial damage caused by the appointments: "We acted with absolute caution. We relied on the opinions of experts, including top-level administrative experts, precisely to carry out our duties while protecting the administration and the regional coffers." And on the relationship with the Democratic Party? "It seems to be working. We discussed it, we voted unanimously. There's also discussion regarding the next steps. I believe the majority is solid. Then, regarding individual positions, I consider them individual positions. The Democratic Party is sitting at the table, governing alongside us, so it doesn't belong to Mars. It's part of this majority and takes responsibility for the decisions just like all the other majority parties."
This time, the opposition wasn't very forthcoming. Paolo Truzzu : "What happened today is unacceptable. The president says she's not responsible for the bill rejected by the Constitutional Court because she's not a legislator but represents the executive. This shows disrespect for both minority and majority councilors, because we're talking about a government bill approved and pushed through to oust the commissioners." At this point, "any agreement ahead of the budget, with a president incapable of respecting the opposition, is impossible."
For Antonello Peru (Sardegna al Centro 20Venti), "the majority itself in the commission did not defend the president . " "An embarrassing situation," for Stefano Schirru (Alleanza Sardegna) , "we will try to lend her a hand in the best interests of the Sardinians because they are in a state of total confusion." For Umberto Ticca (Reformers) , "we are at a paradox: nine months ago this little law was passed, which we tried in every way to block and amend. The council and the majority have moved forward, today the paradox is that the president wants to shift the blame onto the Council. But the clear point is that the responsibility for this law, which will weigh on the pockets of the Sardinians, lies entirely with the council and the majority ."
