The 11th Carlo Lizzani Award was presented this morning at the Hotel Excelsior on the Venice Lido . The prestigious award went to Bonifacio Angius's film "Confiteor - How I Discovered I Wouldn't Make a Revolution." The Sassari director's fourth feature film was chosen by the award-winning exhibitors, who selected it from the Italian works presented at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival. These were Marco Fortunato and the team at Cinemazero in Pordenone (PN) and Lidia Lovaglio and her collaborators at Cinema Lovaglio in Venosa (PZ).

The motivation: "Not a simple confession, but a search for identity and origins that translates into an admission of fragility and doubt, in which it is impossible not to recognize oneself. Alternating grotesque comedy with moments of violence, Angius lays himself bare with sincerity and courage. Without compromise and with a mastery of cinematic language, he manages to give coherence and strength to the story, confirming himself as one of the most vibrant authors on the Italian scene."

"Confiteor" was presented on Monday and Tuesday at the "Venetian Nights" event, part of the 22nd Venice Days, a collateral section of the Venice Film Festival. The cast included Giuliana De Sio, Geppi Cucciari, Edoardo Pesce, Simonetta Columbu, Massimiliano Nocco, and Bonifacio's son, Antonio .

The award was collected by Andrea Leone and Antonella di Martino , who, with Mosaicon Film, collaborated with Il Monello Film for the production, which also benefited from the Polish company Agresywna Banda.
