Green light for one million euros to support the livestock farms of Sardinia in the fight against the Blue tongue. This was decided by the Regional Council, which in the course of the last session, on the proposal of the Councilor for Agriculture, Gabriella Murgia, in concert with the Councilor for Health, Mario Nieddu, attributed the competence of the interventions to the Laore Agency by transferring the necessary resources.

In particular, for 2021, 700 thousand euros are allocated for the purchase of repellent drugs to be used in the fight against the vector insect of the Blue tongue to protect the sheep and goat herd. In addition, the expenditure of 300 thousand euros for the granting of aid to livestock companies with bovine breeding is authorized, again for 2021, to compensate for the costs directly incurred for vaccination prophylaxis, carried out by self-employed veterinarians and for the purchase of repellent acts. to protect cattle from vector insect bites.

"It was necessary to identify, within the Region system, the most suitable organizational structures to ensure the implementation of the interventions quickly", explains the commissioner Murgia.

"The attribution of responsibilities to Laore - he continues - ensures effective and efficient management of regional resources and with subsequent directives of the Executive will then define the methods and criteria for the implementation of each specific intervention by the Agency".
