There was an important donation for the Comprehensive Institute of Ittiri which received " L'Albero di Falcone ". It is a cutting taken from the famous " Ficus macrophilla ", a tree grown in via Notarbartolo in front of the house of the judge who died in the Capaci massacre on May 23, 1992.

“The presence of the Falcone Tree is a symbol and a stimulus to sensitize everyone , young people and adults, to the theme of social commitment and the importance of environmental protection – they say from the municipality of Ittiri -. This and the other trees donated to the Comprehensive Institute of Ittiri, together with all the others received from the many schools that have joined the project, will contribute to forming the " large widespread forest " formed by the young plants planted .

Once planted, these plants are all geolocated on the website www.unalberoperilfuturo.it where an algorithm calculates in real time the quantity of CO2 that each plant absorbs .

"Therefore - conclude the administrators -, planting a part of the Falcone tree represents both the ideal of legality, at the basis of all our actions, and the increasingly current and fundamental value of environmental sustainability".
