" Campo Largo's failure is clear for all to see. They were formed for electoral purposes, not because they have a program or a vision." This was stated in Cagliari by Claudio Durigon , Undersecretary of Labor and Salvini's deputy in the League. Today, the party convened its Sardinian leadership to review the path forward.

Durigon downplayed the fact that the Northern League is going through a difficult time on the island , having also lost its representatives in the Regional Council. "We elected one," the federal secretary said, "but he left. In these cases, the blame always falls on both sides."

Today the League has "a thousand members," said regional leader Michele Ennas, numbers certainly far from the boom in the 2019 regional elections, when the League reached 8 percent.

According to Durigon, in 2024 the centre-right "made a mistake in its choice of candidate" , but Salvini's deputy rejects the fact that the party, in dispute with the FdI leadership, took votes away from Paolo Truzzu and cast a split vote for Todde.

Regarding the governor, when asked specifically, Durigon says that Todde must "assume government responsibilities; it's too easy to accuse us of having left behind rubble in the healthcare system."
