Much more than a tribute to a giant of jazz saxophone, making his live debut in the capital: the Jazzino of Cagliari , in via Carloforte 74 , will be the stage this Sunday at 9.45pm for the live performance of " Serenity ", the new recording project by the island saxophonist Laura J Marras on the notes of the great Joe Henderson , recovering his musical legacy.

Released on January 16th via Wow Records , "Serenity" was born from the desire to reinterpret the songs written by the American jazz musician , who passed away in 2001 but remained immortal in the genre. And the album's tracks—with the exception of one, originally composed by trumpeter Kenny Dorham —retrace his precious repertoire at its finest, going far beyond a simple tribute thanks to the expressive talent of the ensemble alongside Marras.

Exploring and reinventing Henderson's melodies and harmonic architectures , the singer and flautist (as well as lyricist) Francesca Corrias , the pianist Alessandro Di Liberto , the bassist Gabriele Loddo and the drummer and percussionist Alessio Cogotti also participated in the album and will be present on the jazz club stage, engaging in a solid and lively interplay that acquires even more intensity in the live dimension.
