Tomorrow at 8.30 pm Cagliari-Venice is played, preliminary to the Serie B playoffs, but Gianluca Lapadula begins with the charge of an award: he is the best player in Serie BKT 2022/2023. The rossoblù striker, top scorer of the tournament, was named MVP of the season by the journalists of the championship's official broadcasters : he will be awarded in Saturday's pre-match at the Unipol Domus.

The reasons for the Award read: “A true driving force behind Cagliari, Gianluca Lapadula showed off all his qualities, proving to be a fundamental point of reference in terms of temperament and contribution to the team. The numbers don't lie: thanks to the 21 goals scored in the regular season, topped off with 4 assists and 32 chances created, the forward also won the prestigious Pablito Prize, an award named in memory of Paolo Rossi and assigned to the top scorer of the championship".

“The completeness of Lapadula's technical baggage is also demonstrated by his headers : he is, in fact, the player who has scored the most in this BKT Series (7) and is in third place overall considering the top 5 European leagues and respective second divisions . To give further prominence to his performances is the goals/minutes ratio: one every 134'; furthermore, since 2006/07 Lapadula is one of five players to have scored more than 20 goals in two or more seasons in Serie B, alongside Francesco Tavano (three), Matteo Ardemagni, Massimo Coda and Alfredo Donnarumma (two each). The rossoblù forward is also the player who has made the most shots in this Serie B (100): of these, almost half were aimed at goal (47). He then made 397 passes, completing 271 of them (over 68%), with 796 balls touched, 345 duels engaged of which 146 won (over 42%) and 26 dribbles attempted of which 11 completed successfully (over 42%), symptom of a constant presence in the offensive maneuver of his team".

Needless to underline the forward's satisfaction: «I thank Lega B and Bkt for this award which repays me for the work done with my team-mates this season, and it's with them, the coach, the staff, the whole club and the Cagliari fans that I want to share it. Together we want to look at the next, immediate commitments we have on the horizon," declared the Italian-Peruvian striker. «Each individual recognition is the result of teamwork, and this is the path we must pursue on a daily basis. Of one thing I am sure: work always pays off. I dedicate this milestone to my family, always there to support me and cheer for me."
