La Maddalena, two victories in two days in Tempio and Olbia for Domenico Battaglia

A month of December full of satisfactions for Domenico Battaglia, from La Maddalena, poet and writer in "isulanu", which concludes a 2023 full of recognition.
In fact, today he was proclaimed the winner (first overall prize), in Tempio Pausania, at the Auditorium, Palazzo Pes Villamarina, of the "2nd Don Baignu poetry competition "Veldi the highest poetry", organized by the Accademia Tradizioni Popolari Città di Temple. This is the "Champions Cup" of regional poetry, as the poets participate by presenting poems that have already been awarded the Palme d'Or in other competitions. In fact, the winning poem, authored by Domenico Battaglia, entitled "Alichi", had won first place in the "Pietro Casu" Prize in Berchidda (July 2021).
First place for Domenico Battaglia, also last night in Olbia, at the "Città di Olbia" literary prize , in the Short Stories section in Gallura and Logudorese, where he won with "L'isola du Suiddatu"; and, just so as not to forget that in addition to being a writer he is also a poet, he received a special mention in the Poetry Section with "In una notte brei".
Last September, Battaglia won the XVII edition of the "Agghju" literary prize, with the story "Luci e umbri", which he had already won in 2005, 2007 and 2018. In October, however, he received the second prize, Santa Teresa Gallura, with the poem “A little more pianu”, in the 28th edition of the Corsican-Gallura poetry prize “Lungoni”.
Mention this year at the “Pietro Casu” Award of Berchidda. Born in 1954, a retired state employee, for years Domenico Battaglia has dedicated himself to prose and poetry in "isulanu" (Maddalenino), which is a variant of Gallura, his native dialect with which he has participated in various literary and poetic competitions, often winning them precisely or by placing oneself in excellent positions. He has published two novels, “U culori du tempu” and “Fiore d'agretta” as well as the autobiographical book “Sorry Ameri”. Battaglia also has to his credit the publication of the collection of poems “Prufummu di scavvicciu”.
