The La Maddalena Archipelago National Park has established an award dedicated to the memory of Francesco Nardini , journalist, writer, poet and collaborator of the Sardinian Union who died on the island on 18 October 2016.

Scholarships are foreseen for undergraduates who produce theses on the environment, history, economy, culture of the Archipelago-park. Yesterday the first two were delivered with a value of 2500 euros each.

For category 1 "La Maddalena Archipelago National Park: past, present, future", the prize was awarded to Laura Pirredda for the thesis "The written use of the Maddalena dialect: L'isuli du Sprafundu ". awarded the category 2 scholarship “La Maddalena Archipelago National Park: biodiversity, science and nature”, with the thesis "Evaluation of the impact of holm oak decay on the conservation of its habitat on the island of Caprera".

The prizes were awarded at the headquarters of the National Park in via Giulio Cesare, during a small ceremony, by the Board of Directors of the Ente Michele Esposito.
