The decision of the municipal administration of La Maddalena was made public last October 26 by the deputy mayor, Federica Porcu, at the beginning of the conference organized in the council hall on Lia Origoni, the great Maddalena artist, one year after her death.

The large open-air theater of the Colmi fortress, in which important musical and cultural events take place during the good seasons, will be named after Lia Origoni.

«A choice made by the entire majority to honor the illustrious fellow citizen of whom we are particularly proud», stated the deputy mayor.

But there should be even more: there is the intention to open a museum itinerary in the artist's home . Visitors will be able to view Lia Origoni's important archive, made up of documents, articles, photographs, sound and computer material. To achieve this, the Municipality will be able to count on the economic contribution of the National Park as declared by the director, Giulio Plastina.

Discovered by the great tenor of Tempio, Bernardo De Muro, who encouraged her parents to let her study singing and music, Lia Origoni was, in the years before the war and immediately after the war, an important singer (soprano) and theater actress, as well as a voice radio and also participated in the first television programs.

He sang in Italy and abroad, working with great actors such as Anna Magnani, Totò and Macario. The conference on the island artist, who died at the age of 103, was organized by Giancarlo Tusceri, her biographer and friend. A photographic exhibition was set up in the council hall, testifying to his brilliant artistic career.
