An "isulana" evening particularly dedicated to the "isulani" (but not only) and in "isulanu", spoken, recited and above all sung.

This will be the show that Luciano Dessì will present tonight at 21:45 from the churchyard of Santa Maria Maddalena, in the square of the same name in the historic centre, a stone's throw from the port of Cala Gavetta.

The historic events "A nuttata isulana" and "A Carrugghjata" have not been organized for a few years, a group of islanders, with Dessì in the lead, have seen fit to propose a show of "maddaleninità" particularly dedicated to songs, of which there is a wide and appreciable repertoire, increased in recent years by the setting to music of poems written by many island poets.

The music will be entrusted to the "Mogan", to the "Manco i Cani", to the singer and musician Sergio Pinna. Lino Sorba will recite poems by Massimo Cuccadu, while Alba Leoni and Domenico Battaglia will read theirs.

Guest of the evening will be Giancarlo Tusceri with some members of the Elicriso Collective. There will be short stories, anecdotes and gleanings. Isulanu (Maddalenino) is spoken only in La Maddalelena and is a variant of Gallurese (with deep Corsican influences). Although in recent decades it has undergone Italianizing "contaminations" (like all dialects after all) despite the efforts of various scholars, scholars, writers and poets, it still retains its peculiarities as well as an undoubted charm.
