A delegation from the Municipality of Ajaccio, capital of Corsica, twinned with La Maddalena, will arrive, led by the deputy mayor Alex Farina, for the patronal celebrations of Santa Maria Maddalena, scheduled for tomorrow, 22 July.
The delegation will be welcomed in the town hall by mayor Fabio Lai and the council.
The solemn mass, in which the Corsican delegation will participate, will be presided over by the bishop of Tempio-Ampurias, Roberto Fornaciari.
As part of the celebrations organized by the Class of 1974, of the Patronal Celebrations Committee, an iconographic exhibition of ancient prints of Mary of Magdala was inaugurated last Friday in the parish church.
On the same evening, a singing show including the choir of the Insieme per il Tomorrow association took place.
Tonight, however, again curated by Fidali 1974, the talented, friendly and empathetic 42-year-old Tuscan artist Francesco Gabbani will take to the big stage in Piazza Umberto I, twice consecutively (2016 and 2017), winner of the Sanremo Festival (newly proposal and from big).
As for the day of the celebration, tomorrow 22 July, after the mass the procession will take place with the simulacrum of the Saint transported by land and sea. At the end and before the fireworks, the Class of '74 Committee will offer refreshments to those present.
In the meantime, it has moored at La Maddalena, Nave Italia, which can be visited tomorrow from 5pm to 8pm.
