The performance of "Chisginedda II - the Return" last night in La Maddalena was a success with the public, with the Primo Lombardo theater filled to its maximum capacity.
In the vernacular “isulanu”, written by Giorgio Acciaro, is the continuation of the first, staged for the first time in 2012 which, directed at the time by Graziella D'Angelo, received considerable appreciation in that case too.
It was basically the story of Cinderella who, as the author Giorgio Acciaro said, was «transplanted in our Maddalena environment, in an unspecified era, let's say the golden age, the one that always seems better than the one that we are living. Roughly speaking, let's say that it is set in the post-war period."
The protagonists were Chisginedda, a "ziracca", an orphan girl who worked in a renowned beauty salon. Many other characters revolved around her. Chisginedda, among ups and downs, funny situations, hilarious jokes (among the interpreters the unforgettable and late Tonino Scanu), in the end she married, as often happened, a soldier and left, fulfilling, at least apparently, her dreams.
The story represented yesterday essentially featured the same main characters, a few years later, a little older, in a country less wealthy than before and with a beauty salon in crisis and for sale. And here Chisginedda returns, disappointed by her marital experience and determined to resume her life on her island. Even in Chisginedda II the performers shone and there was no shortage of funny moments.
