Kazuyoshi Miura doesn't really want to hang up his shoes. The Japanese football star, who also wore the Genoa shirt in the 90s, will continue to play in the Japanese fourth division.

"King Kazu", as he is nicknamed in his country, will turn 55 in February. He is training in Osaka and expects to be able to play until he is 60.

The striker is preparing to move to Japan Football League's Suzuka Point Getters, and it is not certain that his wish will not come true. After all, there are "only" five years to go.

"I want a club with a clear vision, capable of always playing to win," said the player, ready to face the new challenge.

Last year Miura had already improved his record as the oldest footballer in Japan, playing for Yokohama FC in the J-League.

He is one of the most popular Asian players of the 90s. He played in Brazil, in Palmeiras, where he started his career in 1986, in Italy as mentioned in Genoa, in Croatia, in Australia and in several other Brazilian teams, as well as in his Japan. Excluded Africa, therefore, he played in teams from all continents. With the Japanese national team he has 89 appearances and 55 goals, he won an Asian Cup in 1992.
