The Sardinian identity also emerges in the construction sector, in particular in the clay constructions characteristic of the Medio Campidano . "We want to enhance the typical elements of our history also in the urban planning field", explained the commissioner Quirico Sanna , illustrating today the program of the "Journey into the raw earth" initiative.

Two appointments organized by the "Città della terra cruda" association: in Serrenti on April 29 and in Samassi on April 30 to address "the contribution of raw earth architecture to the ecological transition" and "the role of the international network of raw earth cities ".

From April 28 to May 1, in the municipalities of Ussaramanna, Serrenti, Solarussa, Nurachi, Samassi, Samatzai and Settimo San Pietro, there will be a cultural tourist itinerary of the earthen houses.

"Raw earth dwellings are typical components of the Sardinian landscape, they characterize the territory and can also be an excellent basis for green building with a view to sustainable development - added Councilor Sanna - In addition to protecting, recovering and using clay buildings, the aim is also to promote the reuse of this traditional material in today's building, obviously also taking into account the new green building technologies ".
