Everything is ready also in Alghero for the International Jazz Day. The appointment is for 30 April, which will also be the opening day of the fifth edition of the "JazzAlguer" festival, the event organized by the cultural association Bayou Club-Events which in spanning seven months, until November 25, will offer a calendar with 13 concerts and the return of the competition for young bands.

The event was presented by the mayor Mario Conoci, the councilor for Culture and Tourism Alessandro Cocco, the president of the Alghero Foundation Andrea Delogu and the artistic director of JazzAlguer Massimo Russino.

In the bill there is space for regional excellences, important national and international artists and new voices, Italian and foreign, on a wide-ranging journey between genres and styles.

Among the leading names Paolo Fresu in trio with Rita Marcotulli and Jaques Morelenbaum, the violinist Anais Drago, the Finnish trumpeter Tero Saarti, with two historical ensembles of the island landscape, the Jazz Orchestra of Sardinia and the Woodstore Quintet; and again, the trumpeter from Campania Luca Aquino in trio with the pianist Sade Mangiaracina and the double bass player Salvatore Maltana.

Among the voices are Neri Per Caso, the American singer Denia Ridley, Simona Bencini, the English Jill Saward and Sarah Jane Morris with Nick The Nightfly.

First appointment on April 30 at the Civic Theater with the American singer Denia Ridley.
