Jazz and world music in some of Northern Sardinia's most evocative locations. Everything is ready for the 25th edition of Musica sulle Bocche , the international festival directed by Enzo Favata , which will feature 40 concerts in 10 municipalities between August 7th and 31st: Castelsardo, Sassari, Alghero, Porto Torres, Valledoria, Martis, Ploaghe, Bulzi, Tergu, and Chiaramonti .
It kicks off Thursday at sunset (7 pm) on the beach of Argentiera , the ancient mining village in the municipality of Sassari , with the concert Atelier, by Remo Anzovino , a pianist and composer with a strong cinematic spirit. On Friday, the festival stops in Alghero , in the open-air auditorium of Lo Quarter (before 9:30 pm) with Mediterranean Night, a musical journey featuring Indaco , pioneers of Mediterranean music, together with rock guitarist Riky Portera , Enzo Favata , and pianist and sound designer Alfonso Santimone . This ensemble of nine musicians offers a sonic narrative that spans cultures and styles.
After the two evenings, there's a break for Ferragosto. The event will resume on the 16th in Porto Torres with a dawn concert (starting at 6:00) on Balai beach, featuring Sardinian guitarist Marcello Zappareddu , an emerging talent active in the USA.
