"Too many injuries, and I want to spend more time with my son." Thus, at just 29 years old, Jakub Jankto announced his retirement from professional football.
The midfielder, who wore the Cagliari shirt, making 18 appearances and scoring one goal , as well as the uniforms of Sampdoria and Udinese , and who was the first to come out , revealing his homosexuality in a video on Instagram, entrusted his message to social media.
"Many people ask me," the player, whose contract with Cagliari expired at the end of the season, wrote on his profile, "if I'll continue playing. My answer is: unfortunately, no . The reason is simple: too many injuries, the ligaments in my ankle are completely gone."
But the main reason, Jankto adds, is his son with Marketa Ottomanska : "The key," the footballer adds, "is my son, who I don't get to see very often. I want to change this situation, because we only have one family, and that's why I want to move to Prague and spend more time with him."
