Marcell Jacobs is back.

Six months after the Tokyo Games, the Olympic champion won the 60 meters race in Berlin running in 6 "51, four hundredths from the Italian record. He does so on the same track as the Istaf meeting at the Mercedes-Benz Arena where the last year the season began.

Jacobs shows that he is back the real one, after a 6.57 battery in which he was unable to be totally fluid. In the final act, eighty minutes later, he is reactive out of the blocks, he spins away much more relaxed and signs a result of absolute value, the second performance in his career, distancing the Ivorian Arthur Cissé (6.60) and the French Jimmy Vicaut ( 6.61). A time trial that brings him to the top of the European seasonal lists for the moment.

The month spent training in the heat of Tenerife therefore seems to have paid off ("I am very satisfied", the comment of coach Paolo Camossi) despite the long break from the competitive spirit that Jacobs had taken from the day of the victory in the 4x100 relay.

"Not bad, I'm happy: if I start like this, I can't help but improve - said Jacobs after the race -. It's a pity I didn't find good sensations in the heat, but in the final it went much better. The goal was to get closer to 6 ' '50 and so I reached it enough. Yes, I felt a bit of tension, six months is a long time: it was my first Olympic gold medal competition and the speaker gave an endless presentation. Luckily I found those feelings again in the final . Now the important thing is to aim for the goals of the season, the next is the Indoor World Championships in March, we still have a month and a half of work and we hope to do good things. I am the same as before, with the same desire to win and the same determination, which sometimes makes it even on him. Thanks to all the positive messages that have come to me: I'm back, continue to support me that we will do great things ".
