Ivano Marescotti, actor of "Johnny Stecchino" and "I fall from the clouds", retires from the stage.
He announced it himself with a post on Facebook: "Following the example of Jack Nicholson who at 73 retired from the scene (you must have a model ...) to enjoy old age, I communicate that I withdraw from scenes and I'm no longer an actor ”.
From now on he will continue only with the teaching of acting to a few students, at the Teatro Accademia Marescotti.
Born in Villanova di Bagnacavallo, in Lower Romagna, Marescotti began acting as an actor in 1981. He has worked among others with Leo de Berardinis, Mario Martone, Carlo Cecchi, Giampiero Solari, Giorgio Albertazzi, Marco Martinelli. The debut in the cinema is dated 1989 in the film "The belt".
In his career he boasts dozens of theatrical performances, over fifty films and collaborations with as many directors from Anthony Minghella, Ridley Scott and Roberto Benigni, passing through Marco Risi, Pupi Avati, Sandro Baldoni, Maurizio Nichetti, Carlo Mazzacurati, Antonello Grimaldi and Klaus Maria Brandauer. He obtained 6 nominations for the Silver Ribbon and won in 2004 for his interpretation in the short film "Insurance on life" by Tommaso Cariboni and Augusto Modigliani.
In 2009 in "I fall from the clouds" with Checco Zalone was the Northern League player Mauro Mantegazza, in "What a beautiful day" of 2011 the colonel of the carabinieri Gismondo Mazzini.
