The young speleologist who was trapped yesterday 120 meters deep in the Cinghiali Volanti cave, in the Garessio mountains, in the province of Cuneo, was pulled out alive after 12 hours .
The rescue operation , which involved 42 technicians and operators from the Alpine and Speleological Rescue Services of Piedmont, Lombardy, and Liguria, concluded at 5:40 this morning. They had been working tirelessly since 5:00 PM yesterday to save a caver trapped 120 meters underground.
The young man, a twenty-year-old from Liguria, was trapped by a falling boulder weighing approximately 200 kg, which pinned his foot. He was pulled out alive, handed over to paramedics, and taken to the hospital.
