A 53-year-old woman – Loredana Ferrara – was stabbed to death in the throat in Vignale Monferrato (Alessandria) .
The murder occurred on the street and after the alarm was raised, the emergency medical service 118 intervened on the scene with the Casale Monferrato ambulance, which could only certify the death.
The Carabinieri launched an immediate investigation, quickly arresting the victim's former partner . The perpetrator of the femicide is 57-year-old Silvio Gambetta , and according to the Carabinieri, he has no previous criminal charges against him. However, according to what some acquaintances of the couple, known in the village for their shared passion for running , told investigators, the woman had previously expressed concern about the man's reactions, which were often violent . It appears that this was precisely why the 53-year-old decided to leave him last winter.
