Vincenzo Gerardi, 57, was arrested last night for stabbing his wife Teresa Stabile, 55, to death shortly before in Samarate (Varese). According to the investigators' reconstruction, the 55-year-old had gone to live with her parents in the house next to the one where she lived with her now almost ex-husband. But their daily life was marked by constant pressure from the man, who threatened to kill himself if she didn't return and always knew where the woman was. The man had kept a copy of his wife's car keys and used to park his car in front of the woman's garage so that she was forced to call him to go out: a month and a half ago, after yet another fight outside the garage, the couple's eldest son had reported his father for private violence .

Teresa Stabile had not filed a complaint - there were no restrictive measures against Gerardi - because, according to reports, she hoped not to irritate or provoke him and thus be able to close the separation proceedings as quickly as possible.
