A man killed his 90-year-old father and a 50-year-old woman, his neighbor, last night in San Candido, province of Bolzano, and barricaded himself in the same house.
The Special Intervention Group (GIS) intervened on the spot with its leatherheads who placed mini explosive charges on the entrance door. The man reportedly shot himself during the special forces' raid on the apartment.
First he opened fire on the GIS soldiers, then he took refuge in another room of the apartment, where he turned the gun on himself, seriously injuring his throat.
Ewald Kühbacher, 50, according to the reconstruction, first killed his father Hermann. Then his neighbor, shot on the stairs after she intervened suspicious of the noises coming from Kühbacher's apartment.
