A woman was found dead in a car garage in Milan. Originally from Rome, she had turned 93 on Thursday. She was crushed, for reasons yet to be ascertained, between her car - a Suzuki Ignis - and the lifting system of a car lift, those used in the latest generation garages.

The alarm reached 118 at 8:47 p.m. but when the rescuers arrived at via Santa Sofia 8, where the Elecon Srl silo is located, they had to wait for the recovery operations of the Fire Brigade . The accident occurred on the ground floor, in a sort of tunnel where cars go before being elevated. The body of the elderly woman was crushed between the car and part of the lift itself.

The investigation is being carried out by the State Police, which has acquired images from the lifting system's cameras. From the closed-circuit system, the elderly woman could clearly be seen exiting after having correctly positioned the car in the very narrow lift . Then, once outside, she tried to get back into the car, climbing over a safety net or gate, despite her age. In the meantime, the lift was activated, and she remained trapped.
