A woman was killed last night in Amendolara, a municipality in the Cosenza province, and the Carabinieri tracked down her partner, a 42-year-old Albanian, to determine his whereabouts. The victim, Ornella Forastefano, 46, was reportedly severely beaten and then taken to Trebisacce Hospital—it is not yet clear whether by her partner—and left outside the emergency room entrance. Doctors found her with serious injuries and multiple traumas and immediately treated her, but due to the severity of her injuries, she died.

The victim's partner, a 42-year-old Albanian citizen, had gone missing and was tracked down by the Carabinieri in the port of Bari as he was about to leave. He will be questioned shortly to clarify his position.

The investigation is being conducted by the Carabinieri of the Investigative Unit of the Cosenza Provincial Command, the Cassano allo Ionio Company, and the Trebisacce Station.
