It was not an accident, Lorena Vezzosi was killed before the car she was in with her ex-partner, Stefano Del Re, ended up in the waters of the Po in Casalmaggiore . These are the results of the investigations carried out by the investigators enriched by the results of the autopsy carried out on the woman's body: at least five stab wounds with which the 53-year-old was fatally wounded.

When the man - who later drowned - threw the Opel Corsa into the river he had Lorena's body next to him.

It is not clear what he used for the murder, perhaps a knife or a scalpel with which he hit her in the aorta and heart.

However, there are few doubts regarding the motive: resentment for a finished relationship. Because Del Re would not have accepted the separation from the family and the growing complications, attributed to his ex-partner, of seeing his two minor children. It also seems that Lorena had been rebuilding her life for some time and had started a relationship with another man. It remains to be seen where the woman was hit. In the apartment on via Terranova in Santarcangelo, shared for years, the first option, perhaps after a quarrel. Traces of blood were found in the condominium.

Del Re could have convinced Vezzosi to go out with an excuse - perhaps that of the dinner about which there was so much discussion but without any real confirmation emerging -, or he might have gone into the house and forced her to come down, a conceivable option also because the woman's cell phone woman was found on the sofa and not in the car, as would be normal for two people who choose to spend the evening together. At that point, the long journey to Casalmaggiore must have begun: 220 kilometres. And in those two and a half hours away anything could have happened. Del Re could have stopped anywhere to carry out his atrocious purpose. And having continued the journey with the body nearby, rather than hidden in the trunk. Or, he may have carried out the idea of killing Lorena once he arrived in Casalmaggiore. Or before greeting the parents, considering that at that meeting confirmed around 8pm, Vezzosi was not seen by the 55-year-old's mother and father. Or even later, in the imminence of the fall of the small car into the Po filmed by the cameras.
