Villa Pamphili, the murdered woman called herself Stella: the wedding trail in Malta for identification
Meanwhile, Italy is working on the extradition of Rexal Ford, arrested in Greece for murder and suppression of a corpseThe Italian authorities will soon formalize the extradition request to Greece to begin the process of transferring Rexal Ford, the 45-year-old Californian arrested in Greece for the murder of the baby girl of a few months found dead a week ago in Villa Pamphili and for the suppression of the body of the little girl's mother . Investigators are still collecting all the elements that could contribute to giving full substance to the serious charges against him: the investigators, in possession of his smartphone, are combing through all the movements of the 45-year-old Californian, tracing the route through the surveys on the telephone cells while new elements could come from the analysis of the contents of the cell phone, the same one that allowed investigators to get to him.
Also under scrutiny are Ford's bank movements, who wandered between soup kitchens and local markets like a tramp but also had a credit card, with which he bought plane tickets to escape to Greece after the little girl's death. Another oddity is the one identified by Tg1: in the United States registry offices, the man would be registered with a name other than Rexal Ford, which is instead the one that appears on the passport, which turned out to be authentic. Another point to be verified, while a certainty could arrive as early as Monday or Tuesday: Ford's DNA is already in the laboratories of the Scientific Police and it will soon be known whether, as he told the patrols who stopped him before the discovery of the bodies of mother and daughter, the little girl is his daughter.
Immediately after the moment of the arrest, Ford would not have made any reference to what happened to the woman who, it emerged, called herself Stella: one lead - still to be verified - would lead to a wedding celebrated in Malta, through which it would therefore be possible to trace the woman's identity. In these hours the Rome police headquarters has also released the images of the arrest last Friday on the island of Skiathos, which show the 45-year-old escorted by Greek and Italian agents outside the police station and made to get into a car. At the end of the identification procedures, the police executed the notification of the European arrest warrant issued by the Italian judicial authority following the investigations coordinated by the Capitoline Prosecutor's Office.
The man could be transferred to Italy no sooner than twenty days, but first the charges will have to be examined by Greek judges, to verify the extradition request and compliance with Greek law and international conventions. And the other variable cannot yet be completely ruled out: Ford could also be handed over to the US if the US authorities were to request it. In the meantime, details are emerging as the hours pass that could provide a precise reason why the Californian was perhaps in Italy: the man, who had probably noticed that he had the same name as a fellow countryman involved in the international film industry, had also introduced himself around as a screenwriter. For this reason, he also allegedly provided a Roman production company with the project for a film to be shot in Florence, in the hope that it would be financed. After all, at least since last April, there have been traces of Rexal Ford in our country, together with his alleged wife and little girl. It cannot therefore be ruled out that during these months the three may have also stopped in other cities, even though they were not registered in any hotel facility.
