Venice, three end up in the water: twenty-year-old drowns

Tragedy in Venice, where a 20-year-old boy drowned after falling with two other boys his age into a canal in the San Polo district of Venice .
The alarm was raised at first light, around 5:30 a.m., with firefighters responding to the scene. Two members of the group were rescued by a passing vessel , while the third , for reasons currently under investigation, never resurfaced.
Two fire engines from the Venice Dorsoduro branch arrived on the scene, supported by divers from the regional unit. At approximately 7:15 a.m., the divers located and recovered the body in the waters in front of the Guardia di Finanza barracks in Campo San San Polo. Carabinieri and emergency medical personnel from Suem 118 were also on site.
The identity of the young man has not yet been confirmed , and initial investigations indicate he was fully clothed and without documents.
The other two rescued people are Polish citizens , and were interviewed by the police to try to reconstruct what happened, with some difficulty since they do not speak any languages other than their own.
The Guardia di Finanza (Financial Police) has recovered video surveillance footage from its barracks, which points directly to the scene of the incident in Rio Marin. They are now reconstructing everything that happened to understand how the three people ended up in the water.
