This morning, shortly after 11:30, at Casa Santa Marta, Pope Francis had a brief meeting with US Vice President James David Vance, who has been visiting Italy for two days for a series of meetings, including one with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

In a note, the Holy See specifies that the meeting, which lasted a few minutes, gave both parties the opportunity to exchange greetings on Easter Day.

It's the last day of Vance's trip to Italy, and he wrote on Instagram: "It was great meeting with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Rome. Italy is a wonderful country and a great ally of the United States."
