Ludovico Clemente Garavani, known simply as Valentino, has died. The designer was 93. Creator of the eponymous brand, he passed away at his home in Rome. The announcement was made by the Valentino Garavani Foundation and Giancarlo Giammetti, the designer's longtime companion.

The chapel of rest will be set up at PM23, in Piazza Mignanelli in Rome, on Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd January, from 11am to 6pm.

The funeral will be on Friday, January 23, at 11 a.m., in the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri in Rome.
