Turin, tourist bus falls into the Po: driver dead

Tragic accident in Turin, where a tourist bus fell into the Po. There is one victim: the driver, who was on board the vehicle alone.

The man had been recovered alive by the firefighters, even if unconscious, but from what has been learned the paramedics were unable to revive him and had to declare him dead.

The vehicle went off the road at Piazza Vittorio Veneto, on the Vittorio Emanuele I bridge, where the centre connects with the hill.

After falling into the river, the bus partially sank. Several teams of firefighters rushed to the scene, along with divers, paramedics and law enforcement. However, attempts to save the driver's life were in vain.

Investigations have been started to clarify the dynamics of the incident.
