Yet another tragic shipwreck in the Mediterranean occurred about 100 miles off the coast of Calabria , where the sailing boat carrying dozens of migrants capsized.

At least 66 people are missing, including 26 children, "even a few months old" .

This was reported by Shakila Mohammadi, cultural mediator for Doctors Without Borders, present in Roccella Ionica where the few survivors of the tragedy landed. «I spoke to a guy who lost his girlfriend. Survivors reported 66 people missing, including at least 26 children, even a few months old. Entire families in Afghanistan would have died. They left Turkey 8 days ago and had been taking on water for 3 or 4 days. They told us that they were traveling without life jackets and that some boats did not stop to help them ."

The scene, the mediator continues, "was heartbreaking, there were traumatized people in front of us , the pain was tangible."

There are 12 survivors , saved by a merchant ship that transferred the migrants to a Coast Guard unit that landed in Roccella Ionica. The body of a woman who died after falling into the sea also arrived in port. After hours of searches, none of the missing people were found.
