CGIL, CISL, UIL and with them the center-left in the square to say "no to fascism and violence", "yes to work and safety" one week after the no green pass assault on the CGIL headquarters, led by some important exponents of Forza Nuova.

All united against a "squad assault which is an attack on the whole world of work and democracy". The chosen square is a symbolic place for major events, that of San Giovanni.

The answer is strong, many people, tens of thousands. And from the square the request to dissolve the neo-fascist forces is reiterated: on 20 October Parliament will begin discussing the motions proposed by the Pd, Leu, M5s and Italia Viva for the dissolution of Forza Nuova.

"It is not a partisan demonstration - affirms the secretary of the CGIL Maurizio Landini responding to Salvini's words -, it is an event that defends the democracy of all. The attack on the CGIL and the trade union is an attack on the dignity of work of the whole Country, and we are here to defend democracy and extend it ”.

Again, Don Luigi Ciotti: “Violence is the negation of democracy. The violence of fascisms, racisms and sovereignties arises from the poison of a disintegrated society and from a pale democracy where too many rights are words written on paper but are not translated into concrete ”.

Dozens of members have joined associations, movements and parties, from Pd to M5s and Leu, Action, the Italian Left, Communist Refoundation, Green Europe, Italia Viva. Expected in the square, among others, the secretary of the Pd Enrico Letta and the leader of the M5s, Giuseppe Conte. The center-right will not be in the square: "Partisan demonstration", for Salvini, while Meloni rejects "the attempt to unload responsibility for the only opposition". Forza Italia had said it would participate if the date had been changed.

"We don't want to interfere in the elections", specifies Landini (tomorrow there are ballots in Rome and Turin), "but after last Saturday's attack we needed an immediate response".

"Let us proceed quickly with the dissolution of the neo-fascist and neo-Nazi organizations. Let the parliamentary and constitutional arc be united and decisive. It is a necessary step", says from the stage the general secretary of the CISL, Luigi Sbarra.

"In this square there is the new Resistance. The Resistance which is the one that fought fascism. We want to reaffirm the values of democracy, participation and rejection of violence", the words of the secretary of Uil Pierpaolo Bombardieri.
