Three-year-old boy drowns in his swimming pool

A three-year-old boy drowned after falling into a small swimming pool at his home in Santa Venerina, in the Catania area.

The little one was in the company of a girlfriend while his maternal grandmother was a few meters away in the kitchen when the drama occurred. He drowned in a few inches of water.

When the woman realized what happened, her nephew was already dead. Doctors from 118 and the Carabinieri intervened on the spot for the investigations.

The Catania Public Prosecutor's Office ordered the autopsy and investigated the child's grandmother for manslaughter as a necessary act to be able to carry out the coroner's assessment as a probative incident.
