Tragedy on the hills of Arezzo , where a thief bled to death after being impaled on a gate while trying to escape following an attempted burglary in a house .

The hasty escape after the owners, once the alarm siren went off, fired a shot into the air as a warning.

According to the reconstruction, the criminal fatally injured himself while trying to climb over the fence: a laceration to one of the primary blood vessels caused his quick death.

The body was left in a vineyard. His accomplices, apparently two, failed to help him and fled.

Extensive searches by law enforcement.
