They did not stop at the carabinieri's checkpoint and attempted to run over a soldier, resulting in a shootout in which a man was seriously injured .
It happens in the Salerno area. The three, of foreign nationality, were traveling in a stolen vehicle and did not stop at the checkpoint of the Carabinieri of the Sala Consilina company near the Atena Lucana motorway junction of the A2 del Mediterraneo.
In their attempt to escape, they tried to run over one of the soldiers. A firefight ensued in which one of the three criminals was seriously injured and is now hospitalized with a reserved prognosis in the Intensive Care Unit of the Polla hospital. The other two were arrested .
The carabinieri suspect that the three are part of a gang specializing in apartment burglaries .
