The vote in the municipalities confirms the center-right ahead
The government coalition keeps Sondrio and takes back Latina. The centre-left continues the adventure at the helm of Teramo and wins in Brescia. Scajola succeeds himself in Imperia with a plebiscite. In Pisa Conti still hanging in the balance. Ancona towards the ballotThe center-right has the advantage, the coalition that governs the country is rejoicing for now. Even if the turnout at 59 per cent, two points less than in the previous administrations, is not in itself an encouraging figure.
There were 595 Municipalities called to vote, from Northern to Southern Italy. These include Brescia, Brindisi, Imperia, Latina, Massa, Pisa, Siena, Sondrio, Teramo, Terni, Treviso, Vicenza, and also a regional capital, Ancona. Six million, however, the Italians called to elect the new mayor .
The center-right holds Sondrio with Marco Saramellini and takes back Latina with Matilde Celentano. The centre-left is confirmed in Teramo with Gianguido D'alberto. In Pisa, the centre-right has a clear advantage but the outgoing mayor Michele Conti is still below the threshold necessary for election in the first round.
In Ancona the centre-right is ahead with Silvetti but will go to the ballot with Simonella, while in Brescia Laura Castelletti's centre-left won. A plebiscitary affirmation should be noted: Claudio Scajola was confirmed (60 per cent) in Imperia and the same goes for Northern League supporter Mario Conte, in Treviso . In Brindisi Marchionna and Fusco go to the ballot , scheduled for Sunday 28 and Monday 29 May, when the polling stations for the administrative offices will also be open in some municipalities in Sicily and Sardinia (eyes focused above all on Assemini and Iglesias). On 21 May, however, polls will open in some municipalities of Trentino Alto Adige and Valle D'Aosta.
