"My son was an angel." Walter Delogu, father of presenter Andrea Delogu, mourns the death of his second son, Evan, just 18, who was killed yesterday in a tragic car accident.
Evan lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a pole in Bellaria Igea Marina (Rimini). He was riding his Benelli 750, which will be seized for investigation. Emergency medical services, who attempted to rescue him in vain, and local police officers responded.
In an Instagram post on September 18, Andrea Delogu wrote: "My brother is the most handsome in the world. I won't tag him or he'll get pissed off, but you should know that my brother is the most handsome in the world. Period. Rimini and motorcycles and even mommy on a motorcycle." Delogu, currently locked in painful silence, received the news in the car while she was on her way to rehearse the choreography for Dancing with the Stars, the RaiUno program on which she is a contestant this year.
"Sometimes the heart beats even when it's dead... Thank you all for your support in this moment of grief... I want our child to be remembered like this... Goodbye Evan... Your dad... and your mom...", wrote his father, Walter, from the family originally from Sorso, who for years was Vincenzo Muccioli's chauffeur in the San Patrignano community. "I'll tell you who my son was," he continues, "he worked out in the evenings, studied hotel management, worked out in the gym in the mornings, then cooked for us if I was busy and mom was at work. When he got up from the table, he asked permission, washed the dishes, and then rested a bit. He always worked in the summer at Massimo's, at beach club 75, and never asked us for a cent, he bought everything with his salary, even that damned motorbike. He translated articles from English for me about new, dangerous drugs, which I used for the conferences I give in schools to prevent the consequences of this curse. He didn't drink, he didn't smoke, and sometimes I teased him, telling him either that he was a Taliban or an angel. I understood yesterday who you were, an angel."
"I slept in your bed last night," Walter Delogu continues. "Forgive me, I'll fix it up for you now. Mom and your sister give you a hug. I'll have your beloved motorcycle fixed and sold. I know how much effort and money you put into that racing machine (as you called it), so I won't have it scrapped. I'm sorry, but I wouldn't be able to see or drive it again. Your car will arrive on Friday. We'll sell ours and keep yours forever. See you soon, love. I'll be with you soon and we'll laugh together, as always. Now I send you a kiss, along with Mom and your beloved little sister, as you called her, up there in heaven .
