It is legitimate not to renew an immigrant's residence permit by making him return home with his family - wife and children aged 7 and 4 - because "he did not internalize the essential rules of civil life", violating them "with the commission of crimes of significant gravity ".

And this even if the immigrant has resided in Italy for 13 years with a regular employment contract.

This was established by the TAR Liguria, rejecting the appeal of an Albanian against the Police Headquarters of Savona and the Interior Ministry, which had denied the renewal of the residence permit to the man in consideration of the three-year sentence for 16 episodes of drug transfer.

The Police Headquarters - explained the TAR in the ruling that rejected the Albanian's appeal - highlighted that the whole family unit has the same citizenship and therefore can return to the country of origin without the risk of division.

It was held, is the conclusion of the administrative court, that the need to remove a person "dangerous, despite the family situation and the years of stay in Italy" prevailed.
