His name is Pietro Cottu, from Ollolai, the “star” of door-to-door salesmen who now lives and works in the Milan area. From Sardinia to Lombardy, he has sold more than two thousand Vorwerk devices, known by everyone by the simpler and more familiar name “Folletto”. His story, as told by the Corriere della Sera, begins far from the world of companies and representatives. «I dealt with horses, then a friend suggested I try here». After the first month, where sales counted 42 successes, the numbers have not changed: «The second month I sold 50». The earnings are good, «even 10 thousand euros a month. But if you don't sell, you don't eat», Cottu specifies.

The day begins at 9:30, in a bar in Rho. First the meeting with colleagues, then off to new condominiums and buildings to visit. This is because, unlike many other jobs, appointments are strictly made with people. And it doesn't matter that often the first response of those who open the door of their home is "I don't need anything". Cottu and his colleagues now know how to convince future buyers to host a new vacuum cleaner in their home. A thousand techniques, infinite ways to gain everyone's trust. Even if - not infrequently - things don't go well: "They often look at us like criminals, they pointed a gun at one of our colleagues", confesses Cottu. But everything was "resolved" with the purchase of two complete appliances "to avoid being reported".

Among the company's historic collaborators - it is said in the company - there was also Silvio Berlusconi. "He said he worked for us in the 1950s". Thus the Cavaliere received the commemorative pin for the thousand devices sold in his career.
