She was traveling to Catania's Garibaldi Hospital with her family, but her contractions intensified along the way. She was forced to stop along state highway 121 and immediately called 118. The emergency crew from Paternò arrived while the birth was underway: attending to the woman were doctor Massimiliano La Spina, nurse Benedetto Conigliello, and driver-emergency responder Patrizia Salvà. The help of two citizens near the Pappalardo gas station where the woman was about to give birth was invaluable; they didn't hesitate to stop to offer support to the family while they awaited help.

Moments later, the most wonderful news arrived: the baby girl was born in good health. It was a deeply emotional moment for everyone present, made even more special by the happy ending.

After initial treatment, the mother and newborn were transported to Garibaldi Hospital, where both were entrusted to the care of medical staff for routine checks.
