The transmission index of Covid-19 continues to decline in Italy.

This week the Rt value drops to 0.89, thus stabilizing below the unit alert threshold, compared to last week's value of 0.93. The incidence of cases is also decreasing: this week it is equal to 962 per 100 thousand inhabitants, compared to 1,362 in the week race.

According to what is learned, this is what emerges from the weekly monitoring of the Ministry of Health-Istituto Superiore di Sanità.

As for hospitalizations, the report records the employment rate in intensive care at 13.4% (daily survey by the Ministry of Health on 10 February) against 14.8% (daily survey by the Ministry of Health on 3 February). Reduction also for the employment rate in medical areas: nationally it is 26.5% (daily survey by the Ministry of Health as of 10 February) against 29.5% (daily survey by the Ministry of Health as of 3 February).

The number of new cases of Covid-19 not associated with transmission chains decreases: they are 410,941 against 553,860 in the previous week. The percentage of cases detected through contact tracing activity is slightly up (18% versus 17% last week). On the other hand, the percentage of cases detected through the appearance of symptoms is decreasing (33% versus 38%), while the percentage of cases diagnosed through screening activities is increasing (48% versus 45%).
