Pope Francis returns to lash out against gender. Condemned as an ideology already on many occasions, today Francis, with off-the-cuff words, spoke of gender as the "ugliest danger of our times, the ideology that annihilates differences".

Precisely for this reason, before having one of his collaborators read the prepared text, he announced: «I asked to carry out studies regarding this ugly ideology, which erases differences and makes everything the same; erasing difference is erasing humanity. Man and woman, however, are in a fruitful 'tension'."

Thus the Pontiff spoke at the conference "Man-woman image of God. For an anthropology of Vocations", promoted by the Center de Recerche et d'Anthropologie des Vocations led by Cardinal Marc Ouellet, prefect emeritus of the Dicastery for Bishops.

Francesco appeared in good shape even if he himself said that he was still "cold" and his voice, in the many subsequent meetings and appointments of the morning, became increasingly feeble. Participants in the various audiences were also asked not to kiss the Pope's hand due to the flu which in recent days has forced him to reduce and even cancel commitments.
